Trap Range

Our newly rebuilt trap range is now open to the public. We offer a brand new regulation 16-yard standard to 27-yard handicap trap range equipped with a voice-activated target throwing system. Our new Pat Trap clay target thrower is “doubles” and “wobble” capable.

Trap shoots are held year-round on Sunday beginning at 2pm and ending ? During the spring and summer months, we also shoot on Wednesday evening beginning at 5pm and ending under the new LED  lights at 9pm.

A round of trap, (25 clay targets) is only $5.00. All skill-level shooters are welcome. Eye and hearing protection is required and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

3D Archery

Enjoy a cool morning walk along our well-groomed trail system while you hone your bow hunting skills or just shoot the course for the fun of it. Wittenberg Sportsmen’s Club offers a 30-target easy to walk 3d archery course with a variety of new Rinehart life size animal targets ranging in distances from 15 to 60 yards.

No shooting distance rules here though, shoot from whatever distance you feel comfortable and that which makes you a better archer. Range finders are always an option if you are a new shooter or distance estimate challenged. No one likes losing arrows. Having fun is the objective.

Shooting life-size 3D targets helps bow hunters better understand shot placement and shooting angles on animals. That makes 3D shooting an excellent way to practice for hunting season while ensuring equipment is working properly. Shooting 3D archery can also be mentally and physically challenging. Focus on your form and keep an open mind. One of the best benefits of archery is the people you will meet, and the ability to join a like-minded community of bow hunters and recreational archers. When you’re ready, bring extra arrows, wear appropriate shoes and clothes, maybe pack a snack, water, sunscreen and bug spray. Check out this video done by a WSC member!

Hand Gun range.jpeg

Hand Gun Range

Our newly revamped handgun range is approximately 25 yards long with plenty of width to accommodate multiple shooters. We also have a range building with a designated area for your unloaded handgun and a separate area for your ammunition. Please note: THIS IS A COLD RANGE so be sure to show up with your gun unloaded when entering the range.

There are steel targets left on the range for members to shoot anytime at a minimum distance of 15 yards.

We hold weekly Thursday shoots starting at 5:30 pm starting in late April (check our calendar for start date). Stages are set with a host of different targets; swingers, drop turners, poppers, Texas star, cardboard targets, hostage targets, knock down targets, and an attack target with a running man that covers 21 feet in 1.5 seconds. All skills levels as well as both men and women are welcome and encouraged to attend. This is a super fun night where you will be guided by NRA trained range officers. This is a great way to work on your skills in real life scenarios.

We end our Thursday night weekly shoot season on the last Thursday of October with a “Pistol Pumpkin Carving” kind of night!

Eye and hearing protection are required for everyone on the range.

Rifle Range

Our rifle range is for club members only and consists of a 240 yard range. There are 3-bays with sturdy  benches to shoot from inside the range house. There are target backers at 25, 50 and 100 yards. There  are two steel plates at 200 and two at 240. There is ample parking for multiple shooters. Rifle, shotgun,  or handgun may be shot on the rifle range with 50 caliber cartridge firearms being the exception. Eye  and hearing protection is required on all firearms ranges.
