Apply to Become a Member

Download a membership application below.

Hello,

We are pleased that you are interested in becoming a member of the Wittenberg Sportsmen’s Club.

There are a few things to know before applying for membership:

WSC works hard to keep its club personal while creating strong friendships among its members. This is one of the reasons why WSC has a membership cap of 200. We are currently at that cap with approximately 15-20 applications on a waiting list.

No worries though because applications are dated as they are received and added to the list. Every year we do have an average turnover due to members moving, needs changing, etc. You will also need a current member to sponsor you. If you do not know any members, we suggest getting involved with the club by coming to our public events. Since there is a waiting list there is time for members to get to know you while attending some fun events.

Membership dues for new applicants are $200.00 plus a one-time $50.00 initiation fee (24 yrs. Of age and older). Excludes Intermediate and Junior members where there is a reduced rate, and no initiation fee is applied. *See below.

Membership rates:

New Applicant               $250.00 ($200.00 + $50.00 one-time initiation fee).

Intermediate                  $100.00 (19-24 yrs. of age) Initiation fee does not apply.

Junior member              $5.00 (12-19 years of age) Initiation fee does not apply.

Associate member         $200.00 (No work credits required-no voting rights).

Active member              $100.00 (Requires a minimum of 20 work credits-voting rights).

Requirements for membership in addition to having a current member sponsoring you and vouching for your good character are: United States Citizenship, proof of sportsman which can include one of the following: hunting/fishing license, handgun permit, NRA or other sportsman group membership, etc.

Once your application is up for review you will receive a phone call and be asked to attend an interview with the membership committee. From the interview process you will then attend two monthly meetings, the 1st with your club member sponsor for the first reading before club business meeting which starts at 7 pm (you will then be asked to leave before the regular business meeting commences) and the 2nd monthly meeting for your acceptance into the club (sponsor does not need to be present at this meeting). All new members are required to work 10 hrs. as part of the initiation of the first year of membership. This is a great way for you to get to know the members of the club.

Club meetings are held at the club house on 90 Montoma Lane Woodstock the first Wednesday of every month except for meetings scheduled from Memorial Day through Labor Day. These meetings will be on the first Wednesday of the month but held at the pavilion by the club pond at 90 Motoma Lane Woodstock.

Should you have any questions at all please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you at some of our events and getting to know you.

Sincerely,

Russell Oakes

Membership Chairman
